An Embarassment of Riches

Whoops!

The library books I requested online have started to all come in at once. Currently I have two books checked out: my book club book (going back this Saturday) and the wedding industry book I posted about previously, which I haven't even started. However, the library just emailed me and let me know that TWO more titles are in and are on hold for me.

Well, I suppose I can renew them, right?

Speaking of libraries, my librarian co-dancer (there are more belly dancing librarians than you would think, by the way!) just let me know it's National Library week! She sent the following fun things to check out:

What Are You Free2 Do?
Library Contest and More at www.WeAreFree2.org

San Francisco Public Library, along with other Bay
Area libraries, kicked off last month a public
awareness campaign aimed at reconnecting communities
with their local libraries. The “Free2” campaign
encourages library users and supporters to think about
all the ways libraries have empowered them. Libraries
have helped give users the freedom to connect, create,
imagine, explore, succeed, and much more.

An online Free2 contest asks the public to describe,
in 25 words or less, what they are free to do—or
be—thanks to their local library. Contestants will
have a chance to win one of 10 grand prizes, which
includes a FLIP video camera and an iPod Shuffle. The
contest can be found at www.sfpl.org or
www.WeAreFree2.org. Deadline is May 15.
